High Five for Friday

It's Friday, ya'll. The end of the week. A day that a TON of people look forward to.
It ends in "y". In case you weren't sure, it's Friday. And I'm linking up with Lauren.

ONE. Out of Town Guests.
We were SO SO SO excited that our life friends Hannah & Loren and Joe & Corette came through. Mike and I weren't sure exactly what to show them about our new home/place. :) We had Saturday afternoon to introduce them to Jitter Bean, Holly Yashi, the Redwood Community Park (we pulled black berries and huckle berries right there for them to try!), Luffenholtz, Trinidad, Starz Burgers, and then, of course, a game of Taboo! It was a fun busy day! We met up with them again on Sunday morning and had breakfast at Big Blue (mine and Mike's favorite breakfast place {and sometime lunch}).

{my one picture from the trip. please ignore my weird smile.

TWO. Healing.
Mike's ankle is feeling MUCH better! He is back on his regular shifts and we are both happy about it. It was nice having him home every evening but office work is not what makes my hubby happy. ;)

THREE. Young Married Group.
For the last year, the hubby and I have dreamed of starting/getting involved with a young married group. We weren't at Leona Valley Community Church long enough to start anything but we are hear in Humboldt for a while and there are lots of young married people! So, we had our first group on Tuesday night. For dinner we had build your own burritos (complete with cilantro lime rice), watched previews for 3 different studies and landed on Chip Ingram's "House or Home: Marriage Edition", and enjoyed each other. We will be meeting every other Sunday night! Can't wait to see what this community becomes.

FOUR. Decent Schedule.
This is going to seem like a totally and completely normal odd "high", but when you're unemployed or a STAW (stay at home wife), it's the little things. I have been going to bed and getting up a decent times (read: in bed by 11pm, if not 10:30, and up no later than 8 am, if not, 7:30). My days have consisted of errands, bible studies, house hold chores, lots of walks, an interview (at Ulta!!), and today, getting ready for another guest and women's retreat. Ahhh!

FIVE. Serving.
I never knew that I could serve someone by going shopping with them. Yesterday, I went shopping with Janice. Janice is allergic to Polyester, Rayon, and a whole slew of other things. That means it takes a lot of patience and time spent reading labels. But we had a successful day finding her cute, comfy, fashionable items that she isn't allergic to and all for a fantastic deal!

Was your week fabulous? Stressful? Normal? Boring? Fun? Weird? Or???

~Emily~
