Avalee's Baby Mobile

Our sweet friends, Andy and Jamie, are expecting their first baby!
Of course, this calls for some crafting.
Avalee's nursery is going to be so sweet (as will she!).

I'm so excited to share this tutorial with you guys!

Here's what you need to make this sweet mobile:
*Flower paper punch
Scrapbook paper
Embroidery hoop
Fishing line (or thread)
Wire of some kind
*Paint
*Paint brush
Needle
Scissors
Ribbons (all kinds!)
Glue (any kind should do. I used super glue)

*Optional

Step One.
Use the flower punch (or freehand the flowers!)
to cut out the flowers from the scrapbook paper.
Cute more than you think you need.
If you want to be precise, figure out how many
strands you want and how many flowers per strands you want.
I did 4 flowers and about 16 strands.

Step Two.
For desired variety, lay out your flowers

Step Three.
With your needle, poke a hole through your flowers.

Step Four.
Cut the fishing line strands.
Tie a knot at the bottom and slide your first flower on the strand!

Step Five.
Tie a knot every so often and slide the next flower on.
I was very technical and tied knots every 4 finger lengths. ;)

At this point, paint the embroidery hoop, if needed.

Step Six.
Take your wire and cit two sections long enough to go across the hoop and wrap the ends (pictured above) this will create a cross section to hang the strands from.

Step Seven/Eight.
Cut your ribbons long enough to be able to double knot around the hoop.
If you want an alternative, you can just wrap the hoop with ribbon.
Tie the ribbon for hanging on the hoop in 3 or 4 spots.
Tie all of the strands and glue the ones on the wire so they don't move.

Step Nine.
Wrap it up and give it away!

Some other fun shape ideas are hearts, circles, stars, or anything else you can think of!

Would any of you ever make one?

Have a happy day!
