It's hard to look around at the you love and they are struggling. I know that it's part of life and I know that things always work out in the end but in the right now, it's hard. 

However, I take refuge in Jesus. 

His promises are true. 

His love endures forever and that's more than enough for me.

Shop Local This Christmas (and always)!

This Christmas, I want to challenge you to shop local! If you don't of any local places then start googling and start looking! Shopping local is a great way to find unique gifts and to support the people who live near you, eat near you and maybe even go to church with you.

High Five for Friday

It's a chance to take a little time for the good things from the past week.

ONE. Sleep.

I have had SO much sleep the last 4 days! I feel great!

TWO. Kitties.

They provide A LOT of entertainment. A LOT. They chase each other like crazy, they play with things and get all crazy and they are just cute. The end.

THREE. Perfect Timing.

Since Mike and I have moved back to Cali with out jobs lined up (sounds crazy, I know). We have been living very frugal. Our families are great, they have posted that Mike is able and willing to do handyman work (and he does it well). Because they have posted, we have been able to have an income and even go on a date! People have heard him say he's doing handyman work and have asked when they can have him come over. God's timing is perfect!

FOUR. Date Night!

We got to go on a date!!! Woo hoo! I love my man. He is my love. :) We are so lucky to have found each other in 8th grade. Yup. You read that right, we met in 7th, became friend and have been "together" since 8th (minus a little 8 month hiccup. ;) ) God is so good!

FIVE. Friends.

New friends, old friends, near and far friends. They are just the best. I'm really struggling with my KC peeps being half way across the country right now but at the same time, I'm so excited to be near the Cali ones. I'm relearning long distance friendships but it's good. Mike and I received a letter from our friends parents, yes parents, of encouragement. It was so sweet! I almost cried. I really am so blessed and lucky. Again, God is good!

Whirlwind

These last 5 weeks have been a whirlwind... We moved half across the country, got settled in our new little cottage (still tweaking things!), Mike has been working handyman jobs and I've been creating like a crazy lady. Mike and I are enjoying visiting with people and we are staying busy. 

My mom and I are starting a business. It's fun and it's crazy. We are having a blast creating things and we are trying to figure out the best venue to sell in.

High Five for Friday!

It's Friday evening and I'm behind schedule! 

Granted, I haven't done a post like this for weeks...

ONE. A day "down below" a.k.a the greater L.A. area.

TWO. My Mitzy Kitzy keeps me entertained. 

I make her tired with all my crafting and creating.

THREE. My husband is awesome. He works hard. He is willing to jump in and help even after a busy day. He is my favorite.

FOUR. My mom and I crafted and created ALL WEEK. Earrings, towels, key fobs, chalk boards, business ideas searching for craft fairs/shows. FUN. Our first one is tomorrow. Hoping we do well! Sparky, pearly, vintage things always make my heart happy.

FIVE. Lunch with friends. I got to have coffee and lunch with a friend from high school. We giggled. A. LOT. Then I had another lunch date with a bestie from middle school. That's right folks... if we become friends, prepare to stick around awhile. ;)

Unpacking

I know it's been quiet here. I've been preoccupied with moving and unpacking and lots of visiting. I'm hoping to make this blog more active! I have some photos to show you of the move and then some other fun posts coming up but for now... enjoy this. :)

Desert Gardens

Since Mike and I are moving back to the High Desert (1 week and 2 days... nuts!) 

I thought I would look at what kinds of plants can die grow there. 

Wish me luck friends... it is a desert.  The other thing to consider, 

we may or may not be in that specific area for long. 

Solution to these conundrums? Cacti and 

succulents are always a good bet so that leads me to... Dish gardens!
