High Five for Friday

Who is happy it's Friday? I know I am.
Yay for sleeping in a little tomorrow.

As always, I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk.
 Feel free to link up!

ONE. Job Offer
Mike got a job offer. Yes he did!!
It is in Lee’s Summit (a suburb of KCMO and where I work).
Next step is moving out this way for sake of convenience and what not.
I am so proud of him!

 TWO. VBS (vacation bible school)
I have been helping with games and what a blast it has been!
Watching these kids learn about Jesus and learn how to encourage
each other has been such a special thing to experience.

THREE. 5lbs. Down
I have lost 5lbs in the last 9 days!!!
Woot.
As you remember, this is goes toward part of my 12 in 2012 goal.
Yay for portion control, veggies and moving more.

FOUR. God’s Promise
I am with you

FIVE. Friends
I love the friends I have made here in Missouri.
They are so encouraging and uplifting.
I miss my Cali friends.
I am so thankful for Skype, text and Facebook
for keeping in touch and up-to-date on your lives.
Our God is good and I can see him at work in all of our lives!

What little or big things happened in your life this week?

Have a happy weekend lovelies!

Burnt Popcorn (and other airhead moments)

Airhead moment numero uno:

Incident:
I burnt popcorn today. At work. Talk about a stinky, giggly office.
I thought you could just push the "popcorn" button on the microwave and it senses when it's done.
Apparently not.

Lesson:
Watch your popcorn, closely.

Airhead moment numero dos:

Incident:
I tried to cook a frozen pizza with cardboard still on the bottom. What was my logic? It's a one-time tray they give you to keep your pizza from being floppy when you pull it out of the oven. Luckily Aunt Susie was around to keep the house from going up in flames because there was paper in the oven. Oi.

Lesson:
Cardboard is flammable.
Don't use it as a tray (even when it comes with it) for frozen pizza.

Airhead moment numero tres:

Incident:
I was lighting candles thinking the Hubby and I could have a romantic evening. I ended up lighting a fake flower arrangement on fire with said candles. I grabbed the burning arrangement, screaming very calmly, and took it into the bathroom and put it out in the bathtub.

Lesson:
Fake flowers = HUGE flames when lit.

Possible fires seem to be a recurring theme...

Have you had a recent airhead moment?

Please don't leave me hangnin'!

High Five for Friday

Friday
Friday
Friday!

ONE. Licensed.
Mike is an official, licensed paramedic. He can now apply for jobs!
God is good!

TWO. Beaver Lake.
I am so blessed to know Beaver Lake. It's beautiful!
My family has gone there for generations.
I can't wait to take my kids someday.
Mike and I got to head down there over Memorial Day weekend.
We tubed. We swam. We slept. We had fun.
And Mike broke a rib... but he's good and we had FUN.

Please enjoy some lake photos!

THREE. Juicy Fruit.
We started 5th and 6th grade girls bible study Wednesday.
I get to be the fun craft lady!
I'll try post some of the crafts we do!

FOUR. Good Morning Girls.
I'm doing a Proverbs 31 bible study with Good Morning Girls.
It's an online study but it's interactive through Facebook, social media and what not.
Surprisingly, I really like that aspect!
This study came at the right time...
Personally, I was struggling with some wifely duties and it's wonderful
to be encouraged not only by God's word but also by the girls He's put in this study!
It's not to late to join!

FIVE. Service Men and Women.
I'm always grateful for the service men and women; past, present and future.
Thanks to them, I get to enjoy my comfortable, American, free, life.
Sure, we all have struggles, but step back and look at what you do have.
For those of you who don't think you have much, look at the doors that have been opened to you through what our military men and women sacrifice.
Doors to better jobs, business opportunities, religious freedom.
Give a prayer of thanks and tell your military men and women thank you!
