Classy or Trashy?

If you're like me, when you think of blue eye makeup, you think of Mimi.

{via}

Her outward appearance is so colorful and fun but, not in the best way. When it come to blue eye makeup. Do something sneaky and unexpected. Like eyeliner.

{You can hardly see any blue}

{up close and personal! pop of blue!}

{not sure which brand I used...}

Blue eye makeup  don't have to be cheep or trashy. You can do even more blue than I have and still look like a fun and classy lady! This is just my "everyday" face. :)

What do you think of blue eye makeup?

If you experiment, I would love to see!

Neck Drapery aka... necklaces.

If you haven't been reading along, this is the 10th day in a 31 day series. As far as jewelry goes, we've covered blue hued rings (finger candy anyone?) and bracelets. Now, on to necklaces!

As we've established, I love turquoise and I think the amount of blue/turquoise jewelry I have should prove it. I'll try to stop expressing my love for it. <---- yeah right!

I always find a way to sneak it into my outfit. For example, I'm wearing coral in the photo below and my hubby is wearing a shirt with corals, oranges and such in it. And then there is turquoise!

{i realize now that you can hardly see it. but it's my necklace.
enjoy this lovely photo anyway. ;) thanks.}

I photographed all of the blue hued necklaces I have and I chose my faves!

As I've grown in my personal style, I've come to love anything oceanic.

{turquoise!}

{this fish is too fun. especially in the summer}

{I've had this necklace for a LONG time. and I'm still not sick of it}

{my sweet husband surprised me with the sea star necklace}

{my mom made me this after I saw an awesome one that I couldn't afford ($400!!).
Supplies from L.A. It's Spotted Poppy before we were Spotted Poppy}

What's your favorite necklace?

Do you like long or short necklaces?

Wrist Wear

Today we are on to bracelets. Come to find out, I don't really have many bracelets on the blue scale...

I also realized I don't have any "blue" and gold bracelets. It's a want need. I think I can fulfill that need. ;)

One more thing, I'm not much of a bracelet wearer. I usually wear my watch and match it up with one or two small bracelets.

But here is what I do have and what I do wear!

{left: love this turquoise bracelet! middle: BLING. Right: vintage!}

{the next 2 bracelets. I couldn't get a photo I liked with everything together}

 {I made this bracelet! Fun stuff! Love this ring with this bracelet}

{one of my favorite Spotted Poppy bracelets}

{love this side shot and the pops of orange}

Do you like to stack your bracelets?

What type of jewelry do you like most?

Do you wear watches or am I the only "young" person who wearers a watch?

Finger Candy

If you know me (and even if you don't), you know I have hardly any a ton of jewelry. Jewelry is great for pulling an outfit together that wouldn't otherwise go or dressing up a simple outfit.

I'll be sharing the blue hued jewelry that I have over the next couple of days.

Lets start with rings! They are like little sweet bits of candy for your fingers. Ah! I really do gravitate to rings... Below are all of my rings in the hues of blue.

{3 turquoise, 2 blingy, and the beaded one I made. the large turquoise one is "spider turquoise" from Colorado.
the hubby and I spent a whole day looking for it}

{my 3 favorites}

{i love the combination of natural stones and polished diamonds.
planning to have this ring sized so I can where it with my wedding ring.}

What is your favorite ring?
Even though it's not pictured, I love my amethyst ring from my grandma. It's beautiful. But I also where the giant rectangle turquoise one A LOT.

What color of jewelry do you tend to gravitate to?
Corals and blues.

Gold or silver?
Both?! But lately gold for new finds...

High Five for Friday!

It's Friday evening and I'm behind schedule!
Granted, I haven't done a post like this for weeks...

ONE. A day "down below" a.k.a the greater L.A. area.

{succulents at the Terranae Resort}

TWO. My Mitzy Kitzy keeps me entertained.
I make her tired with all my crafting and creating.

{Mitzy snoozing}

THREE. My husband is awesome. He works hard. He is willing to jump in and help even after a busy day. He is my favorite.

FOUR. My mom and I crafted and created ALL WEEK. Earrings, towels, key fobs, chalk boards, business ideas searching for craft fairs/shows. FUN. Our first one is tomorrow. Hoping we do well! Sparky, pearly, vintage things always make my heart happy.

{Spotted Poppy Designs: vintage flower earrings}

{Spotted Poppy Designs: vintage pearl earrings}

{Spotted Poppy Designs: Christmas towels}

FIVE. Lunch with friends. I got to have coffee and lunch with a friend from high school. We giggled. A. LOT. Then I had another lunch date with a bestie from middle school. That's right folks... if we become friends, prepare to stick around awhile. ;)

{Java chip Sundae. YUM}

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!!!

~Emily~

P.S. If you would like to purchase any of the earrings or the towel, please feel free to contact me.
