Sassy Keys

Just like any other house, ours require keys to get in. I was having trouble telling them apart and was irritated when I grabbed the wrong key  decided I needed to do some thing to distinguish between them. So, naturally, I grabbed my new house keys and some nail polish. This is a super easy and personalized way to mark keys. The photos are pretty explanatory.

{grab your keys and choose your colors}

 {i did 2-3 coats of polish depending on the color}

 {i love glitter so i added it to one side of each key}

{attach to your key chain and enjoy}

What colors would you choose?

High Five for Friday

ONE. Spontaneous get away with the Hubby.
We went to Fort Bragg for a one night get away and it was fun! We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast for the first time and definitely suggest doing it. We stayed in the Buttercup room. It was at the top of the stairs with cool angled ceilings and lots of white and yellow. When we got there, we went to Glass Beach. I saw an awesome photo of it on Pinterest a few years ago and brushed it off as a place I would never get to go to because, why would I go to northern California? Now I live in northern California.
Two thoughts about God came from this:
1) God knows the desires of your heart, no matter how small. Really, going to Glass Beach wasn't a huge desire but it was one God made happen. So cool. "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." - Psalm 37:4
2) He makes all things new. Even an old dump sight like Glass Beach. Now it's a place where people go to explore in hopes of finding beautiful sea glass.
Here are some photos of our trip (There are A LOT of photose. Feel free to scroll past my excitement of our get away).

TWO. Quality time with my sis-in-law.
Last Saturday, Kristyn and I hit up the Arcata Farmer's Market. We got succulents, 4 new types of flowers,  and new foods. Then we went to lunch and Target. Perfect! Even though we now live together, I think it's important for her and I to do dates. :)

THREE. Photo shoot.
Mike and I had our photos taken on Tuesday by Jessica of jcophoto (we made her home page)! We haven't had any professional photos since our wedding 3+ years ago. Photos are so important. Get them done. I'm so blessed to have won her give away!

FOUR. Sleep and kitties.
I love sleep. And I love kitties. That is all.

FIVE. Music.
It makes my body and soul move. I feel it in my soul. God is good.

How was your week? Do anything awesome?

Pinteresting

I was thinking a nice "inspirational quotes" post sounded good. Then I looked at my "Laughs" Pinterest, and plans change, ya know.

You didn't really think you would get a away without some inspirational ones did you??

And one more that I find hilarious because I'm invincible of course. ;)

 What has been making you giggle lately?

High Five for Friday

High Five for Friday!!!
Linking up with Lauren

ONE. Dentist Appointment.
I'm not sure how many people would call it a "high" but when your teeth have been bothering you as long as mine have (1 year or more), it's really really really a high. The not so "high" part is the amount of money it's going to cost to get things back to where they should be. When you need 2-3 root canals 6-7 crowns and some fillings to top it off, it's not going to be inexpensive! Luckily we have a discount plan with Cigna for wellness things so it's at least %35 off of the normal price if not more.

TWO. Getting to know you!
We are getting to know people in our current church more. Most of them are college kids, which isn't bad (however we would love to get to know some people that are in similar places in life). We stayed late for after the Monday night bible study and it was a good time to get to know others a bit more. Then on Tuesday after I had some serious cry time and good time with the hubby about the dentist, read life the my dentist appointment we ran into two of our new friends at the thrift store. Cody and Garrett are fun to be around and enjoy thrifting as much as Mike and I do! We found some fun things...

{antlers at the thrift store}

{thrift store finds. love that chair.}

{surfboards for VBS at our current church.}

THREE. River.
On Saturday, Mike and I decided we needed to go swimming at about 7:30PM. At first I was nervous because dark water freaks me out. I have an over active imagination, ok?! Anyway, we had so much fun and the water wasn't as cold as it seemed.

FOUR. Getting in the groove. Moving on. Planning.
We are finally getting into a bit of a groove in our new home. Mike and I cooked together this week, did housey/husband-wife/team things, hung out, and just figured out more things for the home life.
It's nice to be able to say that after 6+ months of our lives being all over the place. I'm finally able to let go of Missouri a little bit. I don't feel like crying anymore every time I think about the friends, family, and home we had to leave. And it's refreshing. Thank you God.
Even though we don't know God's plan for our lives (uh... read the above number), we still have to plan but be flexible. Being able to plan things with my husband is great when we've been living by the seat of our pants since last October! haha. Oh, talking about babies, vacation, cars, finances, and goals is so fun! I'm weird... I know.

FIVE. Friends that turn into family.
Riley, Hailey and I have been friends for 20 years. 20 years folks! They are definitely my sisters. I'm thankful for their friendship.

{eye pallet from Riley. I've had for a while but I love it.}
