Pinteresting Pins

It's been a while since we've had some pinterest fun.

Here goes it!

This will be great for 5th and 6th gd. girl's bible study this summer!

This dress is fabulous.

Sneaky.

Love these colors. Add one accent wall of fun color and it's perfect!

Here are tips for planting in pots.

Love this look!
However, I would do capris or jeans instead of shorts.

I had a "duh!!" moment when I saw this great idea.

So sweet.

Pretty veggies

Perfect summer bag.

    "Jesus paid it all
    All to Him I owe
Sin hath left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow"
    Lyrics by Elvina Hall.
Please visit this website for the lyrics and other goodies.

Today we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead.
He has defeated death!
Death has been defeated by love.
I'm so blessed to have a relationship with God.
Know Jesus, Know Peace.

I wish you all a lovely Easter.

High Five for Friday!

"Yay! Friday!" is my normal feelings toward Friday.
But, this week, I'm sad it's Friday.
I'm sad because that means my bestie Riley, has gone back home.

As for the highs of the week, it was hard to just pick 5...

ONE. Riley + Visiting = girl's night all day, every day!
I'm so blessed to have people who will come and visit me!
Riley and I have been best friends since kindergarten.
That's almost 20 years of friendship
While she was here we did lots of makeup and hair and crafting!

Riley is a makeup artist. If you live in the SoCal area you should book her!!! And if you live in Kansas City you should book her too! That way I get to steal her. ;) Be sure to check out her website http://www.rileyhagel.com/

via her facebook page

TWO. Olivia + Visiting = sister time!
Not only did I get to have Riley here, but my 13 year old little sister also came out! AHH! We had so much fun!
Olivia taught Riley and I how to make flowers out of scrapbook paper. I for see a future of visits that including crafting and a lot of DIY stuff!
Olivia is here until Monday morning and we have a lot more to do planned.
Yay for shopping, soccer games, family time, Easter, dates with Livey and the hubbs, and more crafting!

my beautiful little sister, Olivia

THREE. Car Registration.
I'm SO thankful my car is finally registered!
Oh the things that make us happy as adults...

FOUR. Salary.
When I started my new job, I became salaried.
I love it.
I always know exactly what's coming in.
AND I can take a week off and not be wigging out about money.

FIVE. Hard Work.
All of Mike's hard work has almost paid off!!!
This coming week is his last week of clinicals and then
we drive to Memphis so he can test for his National Registry.
My husband is a hard worker and I admire him for it.

I know it's been a while since I've posted. I would like to say that next month will bee much better, but I'm not sure. I will be traveling A LOT for work so we shall see!

Safari Baby Mobile

Not too horribly long ago (... February?), my dear friend, Kimbre, had a baby shower!
They are being being super fun and finding out the sex when Baby B is born. I have no I idea what Mike and I will do when it comes time to find out our future baby's sex or not. Hmmm...

Anyway, the theme of Baby B's nursery is safari!

 Straight Pins
Fabric
Ribbon(s)
Felt
Paper
 Thread
 Embroidery Thread
Embroidery Hoop
Hot Glue Gun
Hand Sewing Needle
Printer (optional)
Sewing Machine (optional)

supplies

ONE. Cut out your template. If you have a printer, I suggest finding one online. I found all of these through google image search. I did have to draw the Zebra (bottom left corner).

*Straight pins are optional but I like them
because they kept my thin material from wiggling.
If you have a heavier material,
you may not find the necessary.*

TWO. After the templates are cut out, you can use a straight pin to attach the paper to your fabric. Once the fabric is cut out, attach the fabric to the felt and cute out the felt. I cut my felt so that it would give an outline to my animals.

THREE. Cut your ribbon to varying lengths for your animals to hang from.

FOUR. This is where the sewing machine or hand sewing needle is needed. Stitch the fabric cut out to the felt.

TIP: Put the ribbon you will be hanging each animal from between the felt piece and the fabric piece. It just looks cleaner.

*If you use a sewing machine, go SLOW
I almost had to put a cast on the Giraffe's little leg,
but I saved him!*

FIVE. Use your embroidery thread to give the animals faces or more simply, an eye.

 eyeballs!

SIX. Hot glue your ribbon to the embroidery hoop. Start twisting the ribbon around your hoop.

SEVEN. Finish wrapping your embroidery hoop and seal with hot glue.

 finishing touches

EIGHT. Attach the top off the ribbons to your ribbon wrapped embroidery hoop. I looped mine over and hand stitched the end of the ribbon to itself (I hope that made sense)...

NINE. Cut 3, equally long, strips of ribbon to hang your mobile from. I tied the ends of these ribbons in one big knot so it wasn't too finished and still a little wild. ;)

 What do you think?

Do you know anyone with a baby due?

I would love to see pictures of any body's baby mobile project should you do one!
Not gonna lie, this take some time... but knowing that Baby B will have it for a long time and that Kimbre and Ben liked it made the time well worth it!

High Five for Friday!

Yo! It's Friday.
I'm linking up with Miss Lauren at From My Grey Desk.
Be sure to join in!

ONE. Windows down.
Weather + highs 70's - 80's = driving with windows down
Driving with windows down = happy and content me.

TWO. My livelihood.
Today was my first trade show!
I bought Dansko shoes. Oh yeah, and the show was great!

THREE. Hannah.
I got to hang out with my cool, and beautiful friend, Hannah on Wednesday night.
We had fun using glitter!

Yay! More on this fun stuff later. :D

FOUR. Encouragement.
Being encouraged is a high. It's always good no matter who it's from. For example, you could be encouraged by a stranger, family, close friends, acquaintances, co-workers, spouses... I personally love being encouraged by my husband.

FIVE. Spontenaety.
My new position has allowed for Mike and I to plan a short notice (for us at least) trip to go home!! We can't wait to see our families and love on them!

Do you have 5 highs this week?
What were they?
I would love to know more about my readers!
